Outbound Learning

Informative offsite programs for team building, leadership and employee engagement like SAP labs visit and industrial trips are organized for the students. These programs enable our students to gain in-depth knowledge about their field of interest, helping them make strong career choices in future. Interfacing with the industry gives them a chance to understand the world that they live in today as a world of marvels. There are ample avenues for our children to be a part of this world and these programs open them to a plethora of possibilities.

CMRNPUC in the USA: The NASA Experience

Senior students of CMR National PU College, CMR National Public School and Ekya Schools had a wonderful opportunity to experience space travel at NASA Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) Centre. Our students were hosted at the NASA Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) Centre, where they participated in a new mission simulation that included launching, landing and walking on Mars.

Trained as the next generation of space explorers, the students were introduced to a wide range of simulation technology and virtual reality, to experience the environment of Mars, and the difficulties faced on the Martian surface. Students got to see and experience a day in the life of an astronaut as they participated in a spacewalk through microgravity technology, monitored the launch of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) and were part of the Orion capsule crew for launch monitoring and other mission-related activities.

Our Visit to the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISC) - CMRNPUC ITPL

On the 7th day of September, the students of CMR National PU College ITPL, embarked on the journey to the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISC) located near Yeshwantpur, Bangalore. IISC is known for its prestigious courses related to pure sciences and is the best institute for research in India. On arrival there, students were truly amazed by the campus size and its scenic beauty. Stretching over many acres, the campus houses some of the most beautiful architectural works and some of the rarest botanical species. The students were indeed lucky as we got the chance to visit the campus and take a look around the nano-sciences and computer labs.

After a two hour journey to the campus, the students first visited the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) and the National Nanofabrication Centre. The students got the opportunity to be guided by a wonderful student along the CeNSE. The students were informed that the nano-sciences lab was built on a raised surface and was completely isolated from the rest of the labs so as to maintain the constant conditions in the research centre and to avoid external vibrations.  The lab was divided into different rooms which consisted of photo-resistor yellow light as their research materials at times could be sensitive to white light. This light piqued the students curiosity as they  weren’t aware of how some nano-particles can be sensitive to certain colours of light.  Each room plays an important role in the manufacture of a product from nano-particles.

Fact finding on Foldscope

Students of CMR National PU College, ITPL were taken on a visit to GKVK to understand careers beyond medicine. A glimpse into the campus brought the students to observe grafting which was demonstrated by the Head of the Department of Horticulture Mr. Mukund. The students were led into the greenhouse and they were explained why it was important.

Tissue culture, a method of biological research in which fragments of tissue from a plant are transferred to an artificial environment in which they can continue to survive and function was shown to the students. Samples from the campus were taken by the students to observe it under the Foldscope as they were curious to note how they looked. The trip looked at learning beyond the classroom and gave new insights to the students to look at career alternatives in Botany and allied subjects.
