Overview

CMR NPU College is a community of learners, thinkers, doers and change makers. The CMR philosophy embodies a sense of togetherness, collaboration, and unity through which everyone forges ahead with progress. We’re rooted in the vision, dedication and hard work of our founder, bringing faculty and students together to examine the past, engage with the present, and build the future. It is a Co-educational Pre-University College, offering courses in Science and Commerce.

Our endeavour through a balanced combination of academic and co-curricular activities and overall school discipline is to help students develop their many facets and strengths. This prepares students for an excellent professional and a meaningful public life. Every day, we strive to do good work, love the process and enable change so that we can produce students who do the same.

Our History

The CMR National PU College ITPL was founded in 2014 with an inaugural class of 133 students. The college has experienced steady and strong growth since its first year and has a strength of over 400 students now in 2019.

The college is known for a focussed approach that uses first-class methodologies to help our students reach greater heights. Our results batch after batch have been astounding and our students have gone on to pursue their dreams in various prestigious institutions in India and abroad.

Our talented students have gone on to win awards in various events and one of our students had the privilege of also receiving an award from the President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.

Our achievements are not restricted to the academics and we have held various events like our TEDx talks – which have helped our students get an opportunity to meet some truly amazing people and learn about life outside of the classroom.

They are also taken on field trips to industries, which exposes them to the corporate culture and they get a first hand account of a work environment.

Few colleges can boast of the student teacher ratio that we have which is one of the many reasons why this relatively young college has risen to such prominence.

CMR Ethos

CMR has a rich tradition of fostering discipline and our educational methods inculcate values by opening our portals to new vistas of learning. We strives to enrich the overall learning experience of each student by offering the kind of education needed for leadership in a rapidly changing world. We want to allow students the freedom to explore their intellectual and personal passions every day through multiple disciplines and methods.

Life at CMR blends research and reflection, the scientific with the artistic, and the scholarly with the athletic. Our students come from different places and backgrounds, but together they create a diverse and kinetic community that seeks to create a better world.

At CMR, you will make your mark. By forging great friendships, joining clubs, playing sports and taking part in campus life, you will make the most of your time as a college student. This campus is rich with traditions like Literary Day, Ethnic day, Sports day and Cultural Day (INGENIUM). There is constant encouragement for children to learn outside their curriculum by pursuing an online course to further their interest in a subject of their choice. Ennui holds no place in their life at CMR.

CMR NPU Rules and Regulations

1. TIMINGS

• College timings are from 8.20 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. on weekdays and from 8.20 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on Saturdays. Students are required to be in their classrooms by 8.15 a.m. If a student is late to college, parents will be called and the student will be sent home.
• Students who need remedial classes will have classes until 3:00 p.m.
• Second Saturdays are holidays. However a few second Saturdays will be working in lieu of holidays.
• After college hours, students are expected to go home immediately and must not be seen loitering around the locality in uniform after college hours.

2. ATTENDANCE

• A minimum of 85 % is essential. If a student is absent, he or she must submit a leave letter to the class teacher. 
• Request for half day leave will not be granted.
• During exams, if the student is absent without prior permission, he or she will be given a zero for the day’s exam. In cases in which prior permission is obtained or a medical certificate has been sent in, the child will be marked absent. Parents should submit the leave letter personally to the class teacher. Kindly note that no re-test will be conducted.

3. STUDENTS RECORD

• A copy of the student’s Aadhaar Card has to be submitted to the college on the 1st day of school along with a copy of 10th std. marks card and original TC.
• Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth and caste will be entered exactly as recorded in the previous T.C and 10th final report card.
• Any change of address or telephone number must be pointed out to the class teacher.
• All attestations regarding bus pass, scholarship or any other documents must be submitted to the office in the morning and retrieved in the afternoon at 1.00 p.m. on the same day.
• The I PUC report card must be kept carefully. It will be required for future admissions.
• Change of second language will not be allowed.
• Kindly note that the college reserves the right to take disciplinary action, suspend and expel the student in case of gross negligence, indiscipline and misbehavior, after repeated warnings.

4. UNIFORM AND DISCIPLINE

• The uniform is compulsory and includes uniform clothing, belt, socks, shoes and jackets. In the case of delay in the delivery by the tailor, formal clothes are allowed as a temporary substitute. (No sleeveless tops, shorts, capris, T-shirts with slogans, chappals, etc). Coloured sweaters/jackets are not allowed inside the campus.
• It is mandatory for students to wear their college ID Card everyday.
• Students are not allowed to bring two-wheelers or four-wheelers to college.
• Boys are not permitted to wear chains, bracelets, bands, finger rings and earrings.
• Boys are not permitted to have long nails, long hair/fancy hair styles and grow beards or moustaches.
• Girls must braid and pin up their hair properly using a black band or pins. Fancy hairstyles are not allowed.  
• Girls are not permitted to wear bangles, wristbands, nose rings, long earrings, finger rings, more than one ear piercing, tattoos, streaking of hair etc.
• Girls are not permitted to come to college with any kind of makeup, grow their nails and paint them or apply mehndi.
• Mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the campus. If caught, the gadget will be confiscated and not returned.
• Students are not allowed to change their Bus route no. on any day without prior information.

5. PARENT-TEACHER INTERACTIONS

• Students can meet with teachers between 1.00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. of every working weekday in order to ask questions. Parents are most welcome to meet their children’s respective teachers for feedback between 1.00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. regarding their child’s progress and conduct.
• We follow a strict schedule; hence kindly note down the dates of tests, exams, report cards, holidays, etc. and follow it. Parents are required to check report cards regarding special instructions and remarks after every exam. Parent-teacher meetings will be conducted as scheduled in the calendar.
• Important communication from the college regarding student’s attendance, curricular and co-curricular activities, PTM and all other information pertaining to the functioning of the college will be sent via text messages to parents’ mobile number and email. Such communication should be noted by parents.

6. EXAMS

• CMR PU conducts exams in the following manner – Quarterly exams are first held in the month of August, followed by the mid term examinations in the month of October. Pre-board exams are held in the month of January and it is followed by the board exams. After the first test, remedial classes will be conducted for low achievers for which attendance is mandatory.
