Conquering the Toughest Marathon in the World

An entrepreneur and avid traveller, Taher Merchant’s love for running found him attempting to set a new record in the Tenzing Hillary Mount Everest Ultra Marathon, addressed our students on the 28th of June. He shared his success story by elaborating on his physically tough training schedules which not only pushed his endurance limits, helped him brace himself for extremely harsh weather conditions but also aided him to overcome his innermost fears. His unwavering belief in himself saw him cut across the finish line of the marathon. We salute his never-give-up attitude, as he sets his sights on the Multi-Terrain Race coming up in the year 2019.

Independence Day

Celebrating the true spirit of Independence the staff and students of CMR NPUC began the day with the ceremonial hoisting of the flag, followed by a few patriotic Hindi compositions which acknowledged the valiant efforts of our Jawans in safeguarding our nation. Our Principal Mrs. Nirmala Sateeshan spoke eloquently on how “unity in diversity “is our real strength and even decades later after 1947 each of us can do our bit to help India transit from a progressing to a developed nation.

A few students from the crowd were applauded as they volunteered to share their thoughts on the 72nd year of Independence.  The event was made significant by initiating a cleanliness drive to pick up plastic waste discarded in the neighbouring areas around our campus. Believing in the concept “Make the earth a better place to live in “a number of saplings were planted and distributed to motorists along the Kacharakanahalli main road, students also handed over paper bags to shopkeepers. Our youngsters took home the message that freedom is a broader concept that does not end with our country gaining independence.

Baking at College!

A wonderful example of finding ones true calling,Chef Neeth Medappa an architect by profession who made a life altering decision to switch tracks from a high flying corporate career to working up magic in the kitchen. She graduated from a top French Culinary Institute from Toronto,Canada and currently runs a pastry studio on M.G.Road. Having specialized in baking using advanced French techniques, she whipped up two lip smacking pastries, the delicious Blue berry lemon and the extremely tempting Bouchon Chocolate pastry. She literally had the audience eating out of her hands.

Career Guidance

An inspiring session by Mr. Murlidhar Founder and CEO LODESTAR Educational Service
Private Limited, which highlighted the changing scenario in the job market in the coming
decades. The organization assists students to bridge the gap between various courses and its
futuristic job prospects. It works on the principle of interlinking one’s personality traits to one’s aptitude. Citing real-life instances of how students have benefited by the in-depth research and collaborative planning at Lodestar, he advised our youngsters to pursue careers according to their interests. Lodestar also had an informative workshop with the parents of our students, giving them an insight into the varied career options and the respective job openings available. It was an excellent platform for parents to clarify their doubts with regard to their wards interests and their future course of education.
