The Place I Call Paradise…

We all have a paradise, don’t we? A place, which is the source of our happiness and gives a person that feeling that he’s at home. So what exactly is a paradise? As defined by the Cambridge Dictionary: “A place or a condition of great happiness where everything is exactly as you would like it to be.”  Does this paradise really exist or is it an illusion of the mind and soul of a body?

For me, paradise is like the prefect dream. It is a place far away in the world, beautifully tucked in a corner. It has villas that are designed in a British Colonial Setting with a green front porch, a ravishing view of the sea and it is located where the cobblestone roads have worn out from within since they gave the town it’s name. It is a place where the sun kisses the trees and bids the stars good bye. This paradise of mine is a desire, a desire, big enough to consume me.

It’s funny how we script our whole lives according to this paradise. For us, this place means happiness. My happiness is enclosed within that little town because for some, it might be nothing but silence, but it speaks stories to me – Stories of unachieved adventures and the beautiful nature. It gives me hope that one day, I’ll have that peace and silence in life. That’s why it holds a beauty that is possessed by no other place, that’s why it is paradise.

I’ve described what my perfect paradise sounds like. Maybe if you take some time out in your lives to think about what your paradise looks like, this can help you in the next step of your lives, to achieve that paradise that you dream about. It could be anything. When I say anything, ANYTHING!

As Byron once said,

  • There is a pleasure in pathless woods,
  • There is rapture on the lonely shore,
  • There is a society, where no one intrudes,
  • By the deep sea and music in its roar.
  • I love not man the less, but Nature more
