Did you really expect to top the school?

My only aim was to score well in the core subjects. I definitely didn’t expect to top the college. It was like an icing on the cake.

Did you have a fixed pattern of study? How did you prepare for the exam?

I didn’t have any fixed pattern of studying.  I just went through the notes which were given in the college. I am a chronic procrastinator. I started my preparations for the exam only two days before the exam, which didn’t give me enough time. Due to this, I had to skip a few chapters which took a long time to understand. But going through last year’s question papers did help.

Do solving old question papers help?

Yes, they definitely help because you will get an idea of how the marks are divided and also the types of questions which may be asked. I had to depend on old question papers completely because I started my preparations very late and there was not enough time to study the whole syllabus.

What was your day like during the study holidays?

Study holidays were pretty much like any normal Sunday. I make sure I sleep at least twelve hours a day. A lot of studying did not happen during these holidays. Being a procrastinator I didn’t use my holidays productively for studying.

What was your coping mechanism during the exams? what was your stress-buster?

Whenever I was stressed I played basketball for a while which helps me relax. Reading memes in social media is a very good stress buster. Since I am a foodie, even food helps me cope up with my stress to a  large extent.

What was the highlight of your success?

The highlight of my success was that my parents were proud of me as they always are.

And in the age of digital distractions, did you have to stay away from gadgets for the month?

I do get distracted with my phone beeping next to me. But that didn’t make me stay away from it. I am a phone addict.

How did CMRNPUC help in your preparation for the Boards?

The teachers in the college were very supportive and provided their help whenever possible. They kept giving revision questions which helped us stay on track. The college keeps motivating you to keep doing better. The teachers were very friendly and approachable. They push us a little extra so that we do better.

How did it feel with the spotlight on you?

It is definitely an amazing feeling. I hope this builds me to become better in the future.

The success mantra that you want to share with other students?

Believe in yourself and work for what you want. The struggle you go through is temporary, but glory is forever.

What are your best memories from College?

There is a long list of memories I have in this college. I am from the electronics branch, and the amount of memories this electronics squad has given me is immense. I had lovely friends who were always encouraging and supportive. The picnics, ethnic days, etc were all memorable because of these people here. I am very glad that I met them. I’ll definitely miss CMRNPUC and my friends. They were the reason why we were in tears during our graduation. I wish my Electronics Squad good luck and I thank this college for all the memories.
