The career day held on 23rd November in the CMRPU, ITPL campus was a wonderful opportunity for young minds like us to explore and identify the best career options. Experienced speakers from various industries spoke about different careers like Design, Medicine, Animation, Interior Design, Human Resources, Fashion, etc.
One of the sessions that I attended was the entrepreneurship session conducted by Debasis Chakraborty.
Mr. Debasis is an Entrepreneur, Mentor, Co-Founder of Unamia & Namakh, Program Director at inQ Innovation, and
Investor. An Entrepreneurial Business Leader with distinct skills in Business Model Innovation and Sharp Execution with special emphasis on Tech, Customer Acquisition & Engagement, and Ecosystem creation. He has a proven track record in Managing and Scaling Tech-enabled Businesses. He is an Advisor, Coach and Mentor to Knowlexon – A Training
Startup in Technology Space. He is also an Investor & a Director at The Namakh Concept (a mix of social and
retail-tech initiative). His key strengths are Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Strategy, and Growth. He has primarily worked in Technology, Healthcare, Fintech, and Retail industry. He is an alumnus of IIM, Bangalore, and NIFT, Delhi with 21 years of experience across multiple industries.
The session started off by him giving us an insight into the meaning of startups and their risks and benefits. He helped us in understanding the various strategies adopted by entrepreneurs all over the world. He also inspired us by telling us their success stories and the struggles they went through to achieve it. He helped in building confidence in us about starting our own businesses someday and coming up with innovative, profitable ideas that can help change the world.
