Did you really expect to top the school?

I worked very hard throughout the year. I did expect to do very well, however, it was a wonderful feeling to know that I had topped the school.

Did you have a fixed pattern of study? How did you prepare for the exam?

Every weekend I studied what had been covered throughout the week. That way, by the final exam I had managed to cover the entire portions, including revision.

Do solving old question papers help?

In my case, solving old papers for the core subjects did not help as the portions had been changed this year.  However, I solved all the model question papers given by the PU board, which was a huge help.

What was your day like during the study holidays?

During the study holidays, I covered all the portions that were taught just before the holidays. The rest portion had been covered during the midterms and Quarterlies exams.  I did not compromise on my sleep, as you can concentrate better if you have a well-rested mind.

What was your coping mechanism during the exams? What was your stress-buster?

After every two chapters, I would take a small break and watch television or use my mobile.  I feel small breaks are very important, as they help you concentrate more and give your brain the much-needed rest.

In my opinion, the quantity of studies is not what matters, the quality does.  My stress buster was Television, as it took my mind off of studies for some time.

What was the highlight of your success?

I worked hard throughout the year so I could make my parents and my grandparents proud. The highlight of my success was seeing the look of happiness on their face when they saw my results.

And in the age of digital distractions, did you have to stay away from gadgets for the month,

No, having self-control is very important. Gadgets help you take your mind off of studies, help you rest your mind. They were never a distraction for me.

How did CMRNPUC help in your preparation for the Boards?

I owe most of my success to CMR PU. Without the help of my teachers and their constant support, their willingness to help at any given time, I wouldn’t have been able to score as well as I did.

How did it feel with the spotlight on you?

It was a wonderful moment,  as my hard work throughout the year had finally paid off. The feeling that you get when you achieve something after a long period of hard work cannot be described in words.

The success mantra that you want to share with other students?

Never give up, hard work always pays off.

What are your best memories from College?

My best memories were participating in all the fests and also all the competitions held by CMR PU which helped in my development and made me grow as a person. I would like to encourage everyone to participate in as many events as possible.
