Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machine learning is a branch of computer science which defines the ability of technology to interpret the external data and achieve specific goals. These processes include learning the acquisition of information, reasoning, and reaching upon definite conclusions. It is transforming the nature of almost everything which is connected to human life including employment, economy, communication, warfare, security, healthcare etc. From voice-powered personal assistants like Siri and Alexa to more underlying and fundamental technologies such as behavioral algorithms, suggestive searches, autonomously-powered self-driving vehicles, and robots, are a few examples and applications of artificial intelligence in use today. Many problems can be solved using AI by intelligently searching through many possible solutions.
Many, including myself, are generally under the impression that AI is something that we should remain wary of, but there are instances where we can see how technology, when used in the right way, can actually be used for the greater good of humanity. Nino, a humanoid educational robot, is a product of Sirena Technologies that that aims for a conceptual understanding of the subject by students. Yet another example, Boxever, a company that leans heavily on machine learning to improve the customer’s experience in the travel industry. There are many other occasions where AI and other forms of technology can drastically enhance our current modes of doing work, with more precision and accuracy.
Some believe that AI will never replace humans. This still remains a question, but indeed this technology can be very beneficial for humanity. The truth is that there is no stopping to the evolution and rise of Artificial Intelligence. Humans have always fixated themselves on improving life across every spectrum, and the use of technology has become the way for doing just that.
